It was easier to stay small
When I thought there were limits to my being.
I could act smaller than I was,
Give less than I could,
Excuse my bad behaviors,
Hold on to resentments,
Stay in ignorance,
Claim self-reliance.
Not need others
Be superior.
Ahhh, but....
The only true limitations of being human comes when the heart is closed.
There is such bliss in an open heart,
Even when things are tough or seem to go wrong.
There is some kind of magic that seems to happen when
I just show up and be who I am in my
imperfect, True,
considerably more than adequate self.
The cycle of Share Truth , as does every Cycle of Truth, comes with her own marvelous gifts.
They are ours to discover, to claim as our own.
Self Reflection: Am I willing to discover my gifts, claim them and give up those ways in which I still play small?
This is a blog of one minute (or less) inspirations based in rhythm with the cycles of the moon. Written for any person interested in living their lives more in Truth. It's also a blog for those who wish to use the moon cycles as a pathway to connect with their own spiritual life, and with all of creation. This blog shares the wisdom and experience of it's author(s) which we have found helpful to us in embodying the fullness of our own lives.

Live Truth and Abundance
All Truths are
within myself.
I experience them
day by day.
Each step is a
discovery
of
new Truth,
of
more Truth,
of
clearer Truth.
Here in this place
within, which some might call the soul, I will find the key to abundance. In all of my experiences, a positive
abundance is available. Accessing this
abundance requires a shift in my perceptions .
No matter my feeling-being sick, excited, afraid, brave..., I can use what I am feeling to support my going within to say 'yes' to the needs of my body (and mind). This is a vital and
necessary step to Live Truth in my life.
Am I willing to Live what I know is True to have abundant health?
Self-Reflection: What would I need to
change in how I live?

Becoming Willing to Know and Accept
This Moon Cycle asks us to become willing to Know and to Accept Truth.
We are asked to know and accept without any promise of what the outcome will be
when we know more of our Self,
when we accept more of our Self.
We are so much more than who we currently know ourselves to be
We are so far beyond the limited acceptability we claim for ourselves.
When we sit in judgment of our perceived strengths and weakness
we limit our ability to use our perceived strengths for good and
we limit our ability to avoid the pitfalls of our perceived weakness.
To move from judgment to discernment means we are able to allow for what we don't know and cannot accept. Acknowledging our judgment and prejudice (non-acceptance) is a giant step toward deeper knowing and deeper acceptance and this will lead us to knowing and accepting the deeper and wondrous Truth of ourselves, of others, of our world.
Self reflection:
Am I willing to know what I don't know?
Am I willing to accept what will make itself known to me?
Without conditions?
If not, what would I need to be able to step into this way of being in the world?

How To Become Willing to Honor Truth
The concepts of Truth in other spiritual and cultural teachings are broad and deep. As we sit in this cycle that is calling us to honor Truth, we honor what it is we currently are able to see as truth. We invite more knowing to coming in as it is appropriate, as we are ready, able and willing to know more. First, though, we sit in the space of where we are willing to be with what presents itself to us. When we sit with this attitude, we can find ourselves more wiling and able to 'taste' what we become aware of. This is the beginning of 'knowing'. This time prepares us to be in the world in ways that reveal who we are when we live from the Truth of our being.
Self Reflection: Is there anything blocking my willingness to honor what I currently experience, believe, am aware of in my life? If so, I can seek support from my own spiritual tradition, or a wise guide or teacher.

Serving the Child, Serving the Future
Karin, a founding member of our original Moon Cycle Circle and guest blogger, starts off the exploration of the role of 'will' (and true service) on the path to Live Truth. She shares her personal reflections:
During last month's focus on Serving Truth, I was startled by the assertion that I needed to serve myself. (This flies in the face of my Christian indoctrination.) It took so much pressure off me to serve, serve, and serve some more until I was spent. Working with Kinders these past two weeks--and I mean, young Kinders--with their joyful and willful expression, has reminded me to be aware of and care for my own inner child. I intuit that I need to cultivate and give witness to an intermingling of service to them and to service to myself. Therein lies the evolution and healing of Planet and Self--one and the same!
It takes daily contemplation and review of my intentions in order to Serve God/The Good. My intentions encompass guiding the little ones in learning how to 1) distinguish needs from wants; 2) balance their needs and immediate wants with those of their peers; 3) to assert when they have not been heard, yet also practice strategies of patience and grit when faced with challenges. Basically, to stre-e-etch both their brains AND their hearts when peers trespass their boundaries and they don't receive immediate gratification--tall orders for any of us, let alone Kinders!
August's focus on Service and September's focus on Awareness of Tomorrow's Dreams in its range of manifestations epitomizes my journey through the cycles. The image of a giggling-then sleepy-then generous babe Wata-jis in the cradle board (from Jamie Sams story of Setting Sun Woman) captures the essence of a Kinder kid! This morning I looked at our class pictures and could distinctly envision them as high schoolers! I need to be aware that their future selves will carry the foundational circuitry and emotions from their Kinder selves!
What exactly is my role? It's imperative that I pray morning, evening, throughout the day (!) for the words and patience to love them just as they are developmentally (as my young Karin needed and did not always receive). Also important is to give them choice and a measure of responsibility in making those choices. Tell them in word and deed that I trust them. Model that I, too, make mistakes, but that we can and will become skillful emotionally and cognitively. This is a process, an entire life's journey. My co-teacher and I are learning that patience and respect (with respectful consequences for obstinacy!) during this journey are the hardest to practice and model. But the fruits of our labor are so worth it.
