The Amazing Gift of Gratitude for 'What Is"

The gift of  'Thank Truth' is a gift supporting us to start each day anew with the willingness to begin again, and again, and again. Gratitude allows us to miraculously be present to life in an amazing, powerful way.  It truly is a gift to be able to see beauty in the everyday and the mundane.  It truly is a gift to know hope and possibility in the midst of chaos.  It truly is a gift to be able experience change as it is happening in our feelings and actions.  Gratitude = a path of living in the present/in Presence.

Self-Reflection: Today I begin again. Today I will live in the present of each moment. Beginning again and in the present I experience Presence. I live Gratitude

Stay Present; Hear Truth

What do I hear when I listen?
Whose voices call to me in the stillness?
I will hear the voices inside my head.
I will learn to discern the source:
My own wisdom, hard earned, speaks to me.
She reminds me of the lessons of my past, the vision for my future.
She nudges me to stay in the present moment, which is the only way my human ears can hear Truth.

And, I might also hear the  voice of my fears and worries.
There is distinct quality to these words.
Fear has a distinct sound.
It seems to pull at me, a warning bell that does not ring true.

Self Reflection: Staying in the present moment, I hear and discern Truth.

Honoring the Presence: April Moon Cycle Mandala

New Moon, 10" x 10" Lisa Kay, 4/2016*
She sits on the drawing board, empty and open,
defining her boundaries.
Waiting, unattached and uncommitted, with prayer flags: white, red, green and yellow.
She remains ready, anticipating -
expecting something to happen.
Full Pink Moon, 10' x 10 " Lisa Kay, 4/2016
 The pink moon arrives -
delicately presenting her love and grace.
Full Pink Moon, 10' x 10 " Lisa Kay, 4/2016 copyright
She watches and weeps, as she recedes,
scattered, leaving traces of her magnificent presence.

*Mixed media mandala: watercolor pencils, paper, prayer flags, pewter picture frames, pink weeping cherry petals, rose quartz,  matte board,

Wisdom for Moving Toward the Full Moon

This month is a journey (through inquiring, observing, receiving) into our past, to be present with what shows itself to us:
--so we will be able to know more about our present life,
--so we can receive guidance and make life giving choices for our future.

The waxing phase of this cycle is drawing near to the full moon.  These are the times where our reflection and sitting with what has been, what is, and what might be, can make our lives feel unsettled.

For Reflection: Pay particular attention to the NOW, the present moment.  Then, you will not become lost in the story of your past, or the dream of your future.  You can be present with all three places at the same time.

Awake Body, Tender Heart, Open Mind

It is no coincidence that the teaching of this cycle of "Learn Truth" has a focus on our senses and that the archetypal Clan Mother of this cycle is "Talks With Relations". Learning is really communication; taking in and processing stimuli from the outside world and from within ourselves, relating our perceptions to others and receiving feedback (and the cycle repeats).

Learning "Truth" occurs when we relate with presence.  When we are present, we suspend judgments, have full awareness and are in relation to all of Creation. In her book, The Five Keys to Mindful Communication, Susan Gillis Chapman teaches us that presence requires an awake body, a tender heart and an open mind. All three are required to fully take in and integrate the lessons being presented to us.

Sara shares: Multiple sources in the waxing parts of this moon cycle have been pointing (sometimes quite strongly) to my need to honor and balance body, heart and mind.  For me, this is a theme that runs through the teachings of the Moon Cycles.  My work for the waning portion of this cycle is to practice presence and awareness in how I relate. I will be aware of how I relate to my own self; body, mind and heart. I will bring that presence to my relationships with others and Creation.  In this way, I am best able to Learn Truth.

Self-Reflection:  What helps me stay awake to what my body teaches me? What helps soften my heart? What helps me keep an open mind?  Do I willingly receive these things?
