Listening for the Truth of Wisdom

In the Waning Moon to Hear Truth, what is it we are listening for?
We are listening for the voice of the Mother, Earth;
the voice of Source, Creator, Divine One.
We are listening for wisdom, guidance, knowing.
We are listening for the way in which our inner knowing (which seems to come from our heart) hears and meets the wisdom and knowing of the universe.
Once you have experienced this coming together of knowing you will recognize this kind of listening when it happens.  You begin to long for it, and the practicing becomes easier.

You feel, finally, as if you are home--because you are.

Self Reflection: How does my inner knowing hear and meet Wisdom?

Listening is Love

"Being heard is so close to being loved that for the average person, they are almost indistinguishable." David Augsberger

Listening is a gift that is always available to be given.
Listen beyond your small self, deeper than your impressions and judgments.
Suspend yourself and listen wholly.
Listen to the soul-speak of the other.
Listen with your body, your whole perception.
Indeed, make love with your awareness.

Just being heard in this way is healing, and is often the only help someone wants from us. In listening deeply we are also gifted. For when we listen fully to another, we are also most able to hear the voice of our deepest wisdom from within ourselves.

Shedding Old Beliefs

New ways of thinking, doing, and being come through conscious awareness.
We consciously trade in our current knowledge for greater Wisdom and knowing.
This knowing is much deeper, more grounded in truth, and more expansive than 'knowledge'.
'Knowledge' is connected with our personality, ego and 'book-learning' and the self-protective interpretations of our experiences.
Knowledge is frequently rooted in fears.
This kind of self-knowledge is what habituates into false beliefs.
It is easy to cling to the beliefs we have about ourselves, especially if those beliefs are self-critical.

Self Reflection:  Do my interpretations and beliefs about my life come more from my fears or from the Knowing which comes through connecting to Divine Guidance?

Echos of Our Past Are left in the Footprints of Each New Step

On the pages of February's Waning Moon, we are reminded, "In each new step, are the echos of all that has come before."  We may be inclined to think of these echos in terms of the life we were born into: our inherited wealth or poverty, the color of our skin, our religious foundation, our culture, and of course, the wounds and  entitlements that come with each of these. But there is so much more. The incredible and immense wisdom which has flowed through each generation before us is also a part of this echo. Wisdom, sometimes received as grace, sometimes hard-earned, is the gift, task, offering we receive as our birthright. We are asked to bring this Wisdom forward through the way we live our lives. We must learn to trust Truth can, and does, flow through us if we are open and willing.  We begin to live through faith in this wisdom, rather than the fears of our perceptions.

Self Reflection: How do the echos of my past inform my steps?
